Did anyone watch Mythbusters last night? Did anyone else cringe when the Mustang and C4 crashed into each other?

Just watched it. I'm hoping that those Mustangs were actually Mustang shaped piles of rust held together with bondo and paint. Because, you know, rust is a hallmark of California cars. :(

Yeah same with the C4's. Even then someone could've used it as a project or a resto project.

I would love to get a nice 90's C4 and restomod it to hell. Make a real good canyon carver out of one. Nobody cares about C4's very much anyway except the ZR1 and Grand Sport.

Yes, an '85 actually! What the L98s lack in +4,500 RPM torque they make up for in oldness, tire shredding low-end, parts availability, and handling. I never saw myself in one, and still have no idea why I own one, but it is a fun car and I'm glad I bought it.

Oh no, that is just tragic. I just realized they were using first gens... RIP! In the first season they put rotting pigs in a clean C4 until the stench was a medical hazard and then they blew up several miatas... When will it stop?

I didn't particularly care, because neither is a car I really care about. I'm always sad to see a classic destroyed, but I doubt they (the Mustangs at least) were good resto candidates. Based on the other pieces of utter crap they tend to destroy on the show, I'm sure the bean counters demand they get the cheapest heaps they can.

$5000. It's a two-owner California car (less corrosion), all original with a manual transmission with everything in working order but it has 130k miles which is taboo in the world of corvettes.

Thanks! 130k is pretty much weekend car miles, most of those guys fetishize cracking rubber and looking at an indoor car cover haha. I'm in VA where the roads turn to pure salt/sand every winter, so a southern california car is actually a plus.
